The course ‘Internet-related art‘ at the department of Interaction Design, ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem, is lectured by Jan Robert Leegte.
The department of Interaction Design trains students to understand how technology influences our culture, and how to intervene as artist / designer. In my class we take the perspective from the tradition of art history and contemporary art. Within this we look into fellow digital artists over the last decades to take a position within. Aesthetics is a core element in my class, as it is learning to read the formal language put forth by the new media, essential to be able to speak it, an aspect that often get muffled by the focus on technical creation.

All projects are initiated as studies on computer aesthetics within the Unity game engine. The results are screen recordings and html / javascript / CSS remakes and have been curated around three themes, Gamescape Abstractions, Screensaver Aesthetics and Synthetic Landscapes.
